ART, ELEGANCE, POSITIVITY
Olivia is my host-auntie also called "Auntie O". She is an amazing artist and we had so much fun taking these pictures.
Who has been the biggest influence in your life and what lesson that person taught you?
“My mum has been the biggest influence because she has sung with me my whole life and that taught me connection, tradition, fun and that sharing time is very important. She also influenced me in the way I sing because when I was younger I couldn't do the low notes she did with her voice and that meant I needed to adjust. So I learnt how to do harmonies and now I do harmonies in all my bands.” What are the most important lessons you learnt in life? “I think it's very important to know what's important. You could make yourself crazy if you try to have everything done but if you decide what’s important to you, then you make a selection and you can do less things in a better way enjoying what you are doing.” How has your life been different than what you’d imagined? “I thought that by now I would have had a partner and children, that’s what I’ve always imagined. I’m not sad about that, I didn’t want to have a partner because I needed it and I wanted children. I understood that first comes my happiness, I want my children to be the result of love. So far I haven’t found my soulmate, I’m not worried, I love my life, I love what I do, the future will decide the rest.” What’s your favourite instrument to play? “I think the mandolin it’s my favourite. It’s a hard choice, I love all my instruments. I’ve just recently started to play the violin again and I forgot how much fun it is. I play all of them (mandolin, violin, guitar) but in different bands and different genres. Music what I enjoy doing the most: it’s a very difficult choice.” |
